Rack, in production and life with the use of gears, the two are inseparable. The tooth profile of the rack is a straight line rather than an involute (plane for the tooth surface), which corresponds to an infinite cylindrical gear with indexing circle radius. Here are a few rack tips to give you a clearer understanding of rack.



1. What is alveolar?



The alveolar is the space between the teeth of the two-phase lead wheel on the gear; the end surface is the plane perpendicular to the axis of the gear or worm; the normal surface is the plane perpendicular to the tooth line of the gear; the apex circle is the circle where the top of the tooth is located; the root circle is the circle where the bottom of the groove is located; and the base circle is the generating line that forms the involute. A pure rolling circle; a dividing circle is a reference circle for calculating the geometric dimensions of gears in the end face.



2. What is the backlash?



Backlash is the amount of clearance between rack and gear surfaces, which will depend on the installation accuracy of the selected rack, gear and rack. Backlash can be completely eliminated by our message gear shaft or dual output gear drive system.



3. What is the error of the debit difference?



This refers to the difference between the theoretical value and the actual value of pitch. This depends on the quality of the rack selected and the GTf value in the technical manual. 4. What about the quality of teeth?



The quality of teeth refers to the processing accuracy of the tooth surface, which affects the operation accuracy, smoothness, backlash and noise level of the driving shaft. The accuracy of soft rack is up to DIN9. The accuracy of induction hardening rack up to DIN10 level is due to the deformation caused by heat treatment process. The precision of quenched and tempered rack is up to DIN8. The precision of quenching-grinding rack is up to DIN6 level due to the precise grinding of tooth surface. As for the application of higher precision, it is necessary to apply high precision heat treatment and grinding.
